Anti-American
sermons delivered in Gazan mosques
| Ibrahim Mudeiras Mahmud Awkal Ibrahim Mudeiras Mahmud Awkal is a young (32-year old) extremist cleric whose preaching usually contains venomously anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic and anti-American messages. He praises the suicide bombing attacks (carried out against Israel) as well as their perpetrators, calls upon Allah to wreak vengeance upon the Jews and expounds the destruction of Israel. His Friday sermons, usually delivered in Sheikh ‘Ajlin mosque in the Gaza Strip, are sometimes broadcast live on the Palestinian television station. Mudeiras, who is identified with Hamas, is employed by the PA Ministry of Religious Endowments . It should be noted that his brother, Nabil Mudeiras Awkal , is a Hamas operative who was arrested by Israel in 2000. During his interrogation he revealed that he studied in Pakistan, was recruited by Osama bin Laden's organization (al-Qaeda) , received training in the use of explosives in Afghanistan and was sent by al-Qaeda to the Gaza Strip to establish a terrorist infrastructure there. |

“There is not one single evil nation that succeeded in remaining long on this earth, nor one that will succeed in doing so, no matter how strong it may be. The day will come when, from the pulpits of the mosques, we will proclaim the fall of that evil nation, America , which pretends to rule the world. If America continues its cruelty and oppression , and if it continues to support our enemies against us and against our holy places, with the help of Allah, it will disappear; ” “ The State of Israel will disappear, with the help of Allah . We have indeed achieved our first victory -- for haven't we succeeded in holding out against the might of the cruel Jewish oppressor for more than two years?
